As the genocide in Gaza continues and the occupied West Bank faces accelerating settlement expansion and ethnic cleansing, Britain and the wider West are witnessing a rapid change in the political and media landscape.
In this episode of Palestine Deep Dive’s weekly chat show, Ahmed Alnaouq and Hala Hanina are joined by journalist and author Owen Jones, alongside former BBC journalist and media critic Karishma Patel, two people who have been at the centre of many of these conversations.
Together, they discuss the intensifying crackdown on Palestine solidarity, the fierce debates inside mainstream media institutions, the future of British politics, the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and what all of this tells us about where Britain and the wider West is heading.

Thanyou. I like everyone else on here have been so frustrated at the BBC’s total lack of reporting on, or even mentioning Gaza, that I filled in an online complaints form. I received an unsurprisingly anodyne reply. Then this week there have been 3 mentions on Radio 4! Still not good enough, no real urgency. This morning there was an aid worker talking about the lack of everything & then a man speaking up for Gaza & the commentator putting forward IDF replies. He was taken to task & pointed out that they have been sanctioned for an illegal war & they don’t ask Russia to defend themselves. Still frustrated & upset & shouting at the radio & tv news!
