No Investigations For 2000+ Britons Serving In Israel's Genocide
Nobody Wants To Live Next To A War Criminal
Declassified UK and the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) have recently launched a major campaign to demand the end of impunity for the approximately 2,000 British nationals who have served in the Israeli military and who may have been involved in war crimes in Gaza.
This comes at a time when supporting Palestine in the UK and taking action to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza can be a chargeable offence under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Ahmed Al-Naouq and Hala Hanina are joined in the studio by John McEvoy, investigative journalist and chief reporter at Declassified UK, and Shaima Dallali, a legal rsearcher with the ICJP, to discuss the campaign and examine the broader state of civil liberties and the rule of law in Britain. They look at the case of the Filton 4, the Palestine-Action linked activists sentenced as terrorists last week despite not being charged or convicted of terrorist offences, as well as the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold the UK government’s ban on Palestine Action.

Commit genocide while holding a British passport? Free pass, welcome home. Try to stop genocide being committed while holding a British passport? Kangaroo court trial and straight to prison with a terrorism sentence.
And yet, genocide is a crime under international law, a crime against humanity itself, which the ultimate act of terrorism and under the conventions that the British government is a signatory to, including an obligation to prosecute perpetrators of genocide:

All this, while the same British government is pouring money and weapons into the hands of a nazi regime....."to defend our democracies".
The question becomes: who are the terrorists really in this world? More and more, it appears the terrorists are in government with official titles - and not only in Syria. So no wonder genocide is now everyday fare.
The two things the British oligarchy have mastered over centuries, are: the art of poker-faced hypocrisy or even total inversion of the meanings of words; and unparalleled ingenuity in methods of sowing chaos, conflict and murder worldwide.
I think we need to rethink appealling to the rule of law and civil rights. The fact that Palestine Action protestors were just sentenced as terrorists and the proscription upheld tells us everything we need to know about the systems that used to protect us.
