The Zionism Conversation BBC Won't Have

“Zionism Is Racism” Palestinians React

Green Party members in Brighton voted to adopt a motion declaring Zionism a form of racism and calling for Palestinian liberation and a single democratic state with justice and equality for all. It is the first mainstream UK party to take that position.

But in almost all of the coverage that followed, one group has been strikingly absent from the conversation: Palestinians.

On this episode on Palestine Deep Dive, we host a roundtable of Palestinians to discuss the ideology that has shaped every part of their lives. We ask: What is Zionism? And why do we believe it to be racist?

Ahmed Alnaouq speaks to Hala Hanina, Shahd Hammouri and Hazem Jamjoum in a wide-ranging conversation about the history, ideology and politics surrounding Palestine; from the Balfour Declaration to Gaza and from Christian Zionism to British politics.
